Why do I Need a Website?

To Compete

The ABA says that 100% of large law firms own a website, whereas only 52% of small law firms own a website. If small law firms want to compete with large firms for the same clients, it is imperative that they own a website. Today people use internet search engines, such as Google, more often than printed Yellow Pages to find information about local businesses. Firms without a website are ignoring up to 82% of their market.

To Build Trust

People can find out more information about a law firm through a website, than they can from the printed Yellow Pages. They can read about the services provided by a lawyer to determine if the lawyer can solve his or her particular problem. It is only until people feel like they "know" the lawyer by reading website content that they will pick up and call the lawyer. Simply put, a good website builds trust.

To Gain Credibility

Increasingly, lawyers find each other through the internet.  If a lawyer does not have a website, he loses credibility with his peers.  Furthermore, he loses potential referrals by being inaccesible.

To Get Clients

A website allows for inbound marketing. Some marketing efforts, such as TV or radio ads fall on deaf ears. The people who hear the ads are not necessarily interested in hiring a lawyer. The opposite is true for marketing with a website. People that go searching on the web are already sold on the service. They just need to find the provider of the service. By owning a website, a lawyer is making himself available to potential clients.
